Palmerston National Finalist awaits Sustainable Cities judging
City of Palmerston are the Keep Australia Beautiful, Northern Territory Sustainable Cities overall title holders for 2014, this now makes them a finalist for the Australian Sustainable Cities Awards. The National awards will be held in November, hosted by last year’s winners, the City of Marion, South Australia.
City of Palmerston will be visited by Australian Sustainable Cities judge Cameron Little in the coming weeks, to compare them to finalists from all over the country.
Mr Little said, “To be recognised on a national stage is quite the achievement for City of Palmerston. I can’t wait to see their winning projects first hand.”
The Australian Sustainable Cities Awards encourage, motivate and celebrate the local sustainability achievements of urban communities across Australia, and have been running since 2007.
National Sustainable Cities finalists already announced include:
- Canberra Urban Honey, Australian Capital Territory
- Glenorchy City Council, Tasmania
- City of Manly, New South Wales
- Brimbank City Council, Victoria
- Queensland (announced 15 August)
- South Australia (announced 28 August)
- Western Australia (announced 8 September)
