Sue Burton is a sustainability professional with 25 years experience developing and managing community engagement programs that create positive environmental change. Sue has worked in community education for the NSW Government developing and managing state wide programs such as Sustainable Schools NSW. She has also worked in a NSW peak body not for profit organisation managing bilingual environment programs including energy efficiency information for 1200 ethno-specific small businesses. Currently Sue is in local government implementing community sustainability programs.
Sue has qualifications in horticulture and natural land management and this has provided a strong understanding of natural systems and the positive and negative impacts that we have on these systems. Sue’s focus is on developing programs for the community that influence resource use, increase biodiversity and build community resilience.
Sue is an active volunteer and is currently Chair of the Australian Association for Environmental Education NSW. Previously she has been active in a Timor Leste friendship group as well as many local environment groups.
