Tidy Towns

These awards encourage, motivate and celebrate sustainability achievements of rural and regional communities across Australia. Each year state and territory winners are announced between August and November. They then receive a visit from the Australian Tidy Towns judge and the Australian Tidy Towns Awards are presented in April/May.

Tidy Towns has been running nationally since 1990, and began in Western Australia in 1968.

2016 winner Triabunna in Tasmania, has a population of 895 and is the second largest township on the East coast of Tasmania in Glamorgan Spring Bay Council, located 84 km to the North East of Hobart.
