KEEP AUSTRALIA BEAUTIFUL – NATIONAL OVERVIEW

Nearly 60 Years of Community Action, Behaviour Change & Environmental Leadership

For almost six decades, Keep Australia Beautiful (KAB) has been part of Australia’s environmental DNA, shaping how Australians think, talk, and act when it comes to waste, litter, sustainability, and caring for Country.

What began as a small community-driven response to a national litter problem has grown into one of Australia’s most enduring and influential environmental movements. Today, KAB works across all States and Territories to reduce litter, minimise single-use plastics, protect biodiversity, and inspire community-led environmental stewardship.

WHO WE ARE

Keep Australia Beautiful (KAB) is the national federation representing independent State and Territory KAB non-profit organisations. Together, we support communities, councils, schools, volunteers, and businesses to take practical action that protects and enhances local environments.

We deliver education, behaviour change programs, data and insights, community engagement, and partnerships that strengthen environmental outcomes nationwide and inspire and educate communities to keep their environment clean and beautiful.
