Relaunching our 90s nostalgic ad campaign!

Since 1965, Keep Australia Beautiful has been inspiring and empowering community action to protect and enhance our environment. We run public awareness behaviour change campaigns and community engagement programs that promote sustainable behaviour while calling upon Australians to “Do the Right Thing” when it comes to litter and waste.

In 2024, Yo-Chi is leading the way in sustainable business practices, making “sustainable, earth friendly retail the norm”.

Yo-Chi is achieving this by:

  • Maximising reusables e.g. encouraging reusable coconut bowls, or a reusable drink bottle
  • A commitment to compostables e.g. cups, lids, spoons, napkins, sample cups are all compostable. Working towards composting all packaging and food waste in SA & WA.
  • No single-use plastics e.g. No longer sell drinks. Unlimited sparking and natural water refill stations
  • Consciousness in the everyday e.g. Vegan options. Recycled paper napkins. Reusable silicon topping covers. Australian products.

They are also spreading the Do The Right Thing message by playing our jingle from the 90’s in-store.

Keep Australia Beautiful and Yo-Chi are together relaunching and reinvigorating this 90s nostalgic ad campaign with the timeless message “Do The Right Thing – It’s An Obligation”.

  • In all Yo-Chi Stores around Australia you can expect to see the following:Do The Right Thing – It’s an Obligation Song:
    • Yo-Chi are promoting the 90’s DO THE RIGHT THING song via their socials.

    Check out Yo-Chi’s creative version on their TikTok – where they have added some fresh new beats using sounds made only in Yo-Chi Stores

    • & Listen out for the Do The Right Thing – It’s an Obligation song playing in each Yo-Chi store daily!

     

    Yo-Chi Cups:

    • Printed Cups with Do The Right Thing – It’s an Obligation lyrics are now available for you to make your favourite Yo-Chi creations in.
    • Yo-Chi cups are 100% compostable in SA & WA.

     

    Competition:

    • 40,000+ submissions were received for “Colour-in Yo-Chi’s Summer Cup”!
    • And the Winner is…… Congratulations on winning $10K for your incredible creative colouring!
    • This colourful limited cup design will be used in-store late summer 2025 and includes positive messaging around using rubbish bins and Doing The Right Thing!

     

     

    In-Store:

    • KAB National donation boxes will be found on the counter at all Yo-Chi stores (across 35 stores)
    • & Look for the Green & Yellow Yo-Chi Heart on all rubbish bins in-store, as a frienfly reminder to dispose of your yo-chi cup the right way!
