Set at the meeting point of the North Esk, South Esk and Tamar Rivers, Launceston is a vibrant, walkable city known for its rich heritage, creative community and outstanding food and wine. At its heart is the iconic Cataract Gorge, a spectacular natural landmark and much-loved gathering place.

This year’s Awards will celebrate the achievements of our state finalists, share inspiration from across the country, and recognise the communities leading the way in environmental stewardship and local pride.

Registration and Welcome Function
The Royal Oak Hotel, 14 Brisbane St, Launceston
Ease into the weekend with a relaxed welcome dinner in one of Launceston’s favourite heritage pubs. This informal gathering is a great opportunity to connect with fellow attendees ahead of the Awards program.

Visit Launceston’s Harvest Market
Start your morning at the award-winning Harvest Market, a vibrant community farmers’ market showcasing Tasmania’s best local produce. Enjoy breakfast at your own pace (own expense) while experiencing Launnie’s celebrated paddock-to-plate culture.
Finalist Case Study Presentations
Hear from each State Finalist as they share some of the inspiring initiatives that helped them secure their state title.
Lunch at your Leisure
Explore the vibrant streets of Launceston, savour the creativity of it’s award winning restaurants and cafes, and experience for yourself why UNESCO recognised it as a City of Gastronomy.
Cataract Gorge Experience
Discover the iconic Cataract Gorge – Launceston’s natural heart and a place of deep cultural, geological and historical significance. This guided experience will take you beyond the usual tourist tracks, revealing ancient landscapes, Aboriginal heritage, and colourful stories from Launceston’s past, including its famous chairlift, vibrant picnic grounds and resident peacocks.
